This boy. He is such a keeper. Several years ago, shortly after Mavrik’s human adopted him from the shelter, I told her that I wanted Mavrik for my birthday. Kinda a bold question, but thought that if i didn’t ask, I’d never know. 🙂 She of course said NO but has let us play with and love on Mavrik plenty over the past several years. He is so loving and so loyal. Everything you want in a dog. Mavrik is a typical lab in that he loves his ball and LOVES walks even more. He goes on mile-long adventures with his human every day, so when I pulled his leash out to take him with us for school pick-up one day, he literally began hopping and bouncing. He might have been slightly disappointed when he realized we weren’t going hiking, but then felt pretty good about his life when he realized that he got to eat all the cracker crumbs and sandwich crusts lodged around the crevices of our van while we waiting in the carpool line. He spent most afternoons snoozing on the couch, and never minded it when I scooted him over to sit next to him. We love it when Mav comes to visit and are always happy to get his love and kisses.
