My name is Sarah and I am the host of our Flintstone location. I am in the process of becoming a certified dog trainer through Animal Behavior College. I have completed my classes with them as well as an externship with Nancy Miller at PDX. I will be spending time volunteering at a local shelter and then will take my final exam in the next month or so. At the end, I will get to put ABCDT (Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer) after my name. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning more about dogs, how to work with them, how to understand them, and how to work with their humans to improve their communication with each other.
I began my journey as a dog trainer when I enrolled my dog, Max, in a dog training class with The Dog Wizard Chattanooga due to some struggles he had with anxiety around strangers. While attending training, I began to think about how wonderful it would be to get to work with dogs all day rather than the job I had at the time. I am looking forward to helping dogs grow into the best version of themselves, helping their humans learn how to communicate with them more effectively; and therefore, becoming a better team with each other. Max’s training helped him, not only with his anxiety around strangers, but also his overall confidence in himself and trust in me. He is a happier, more well-balanced dog. I learned how to communicate better with Max and how to be a more effective leader.
